FAQ
1. Can anyone donate their hair?
Any gender and age could donate their hair as long as the FOCP guidelines are met. Please click on 'Learn More' above to read them.
2. Can the hair be coloured or must it be in its natural hair colour?
According to FOCP guidelines, coloured hair is allowed as long as the dyes are of natural colour
3. Will the participating hair salon receive a certificate of appreciation?
Yes, definitely. You will also be heavily thanked on our social media channels!
4. Will the hair donor receive a certificate of appreciation?
Yes, after a hair donation is made, you can submit the following form on the FOCP website and the certificate will be emailed to you. https://www.focp.ae/locksofhope/index.php?q=1
5. Which service is for free?
The hair salon is kindly asked to provide the hair donor with a pretty haircut (not just cut the donated hair but also style the fringe etc). Other services such as hair colouring etc are not for free. The hair salon may offer a discount on other services.
6. Where can I drop off the hair if I cut it before or at my own hair salon?
You can drop it off at Monarch Health Centers in Dubai Healthcare City or at Friends of Cancer Patients in Sharjah
7. How do I book an appointment to cut my hair?
Simply contact the hair salon directly on their phone number, not Abtaluna.
8. When can I donate my hair?
Our campaign is running between Sep 1 to Oct 31, 2024. However, you can still donate your hair all year long by visiting https://www.focp.ae/our-programs/locks-of-hope/ and checking out the list of participating hair salons.

She donated her hair in Abu Dhabi two years before she found out she was diagnosed with cancer.. so it is now our turn to donate our hair in her memory.
